Two Ideas for Healthy Christmas Breakfast - Crumbs
OK, so Christmas isn't about being healthy. But if you're looking for something to make you feel better about all the turkey you're going to eat (or something delicious for winter) these are really great. Recipes: Cranberry Granola 3tbsp veg oil 150ml maple syrup 2 tbsp honey 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp cinnamon 50g seed mix 50g flaked almonds 450g porridge oats 200g dried cranberries Preheat the oven to 150 C degrees fan. Line two baking trays with baking paper. Put the oil, maple syrup, honey, vanilla and cinnamon in a small pan. Heat very gently just to warm the mixture and let the different ingredients mix together. Pour the oats into a big bowl, add seeds and almonds. Stir in the maple syrup mix really thoroughly, til everything has been coated. Spread the oats out on the trays and put in the oven. Give the granola a stir every ten minutes or so, until it is evenly toasted. After half an hour stir in the cranberries and put in for the last ten minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool. Stores in an airtight container for up to a month. And for the Cranberry Smoothie . . . Two handfuls of frozen cranberries Several glugs of apple juice half tsp cinnamon half tsp vanilla 1 tsp honey 1 tbsp Greek yoghurt Blitz.
